Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated RN Weekend Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing care during weekend shifts. This vital role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care, maintains compliance with healthcare regulations, and supervises nursing staff to foster a collaborative and efficient environment. The RN Weekend Supervisor will serve as a key leader, overseeing clinical operations, managing patient assessments, and supporting staff development to uphold our commitment to exceptional healthcare services. Responsibilities Supervise and support nursing staff during weekend shifts, ensuring adherence to nursing policies and procedures. Oversee patient care activities, including assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and medical documentation. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate effective discharge planning, treatment updates, and patient progress reports. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, state healthcare laws, and long-term care regulations while maintaining accurate medical records. Conduct clinical evaluations such as physical examinations, catheter care, IV insertion, and ventilator management when necessary. Manage emergency situations by implementing airway management protocols and critical care procedures in line with Level I Trauma Center standards. Promote a positive team environment through effective communication, supervision of staff performance, and ongoing training initiatives. Requirements Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with current state registration. Proven supervisory or team management experience within healthcare settings. Extensive critical care experience including ICU, emergency medicine, or Level I/II Trauma Center environments. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient records management. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and diagnostic evaluation processes. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, behavioral health patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs. Competency in advanced nursing skills such as IV infusion, phlebotomy, sterile processing techniques, and infection control practices. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while demonstrating excellent managerial communication skills. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and long-term care policies ensuring compliance at all times.
