The Nurse Manager is an RN that directs actions toward supervision of nursing care given to all patients.

The Nurse Manager is also responsible for continuously supervising staff to ensure quality of nursing care and delegates, reviewing quality improvement monitoring, analyzing and evaluating Nursing to improve patient care.

Duties include:

Job Functions Responsible and accountable for Nursing care based on the nursing process - assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in compliance with hospital policies and procedures. Provides leadership to promote effective performance and quality nursing care to create an outstanding patient experience. Determines and ensures the competence of all staff members is assessed, maintained, demonstrated and improved on an ongoing basis. Continuously assesses and improves the performance of care and services provided. Responsible for the coordination of orientation, provision of in-service training and continuing education for all persons in the department. Evaluates nursing care by reviewing documentation and participating in QA activities. Evaluates unit policies, procedures and practices and recommends revisions as needed and on an annual basis. Maintains positive relationships with other departments and Medical Staff. Manages all supplies and equipment, supervises and schedules personnel on the units and promotes team efforts with physicians and personnel of other departments. Works with CNO and Administration to set and meet budgetary goals. Communications/Guest Excellence/Relationships with others
