9488187-99674 Job Description Step into a rewarding opportunity working with students as an Occupational Therapist in a supportive school environment. This contract role provides a dynamic setting, focusing on direct, in-person therapy near Sutton, AK. You'll make a lasting impact on students educational and developmental journeys during the school year extending through May 2027.
What Youll Need:
Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license for Alaska TYPE C Certification required Preferably AK-Certified candidates, though strong applicants willing to obtain certification may be considered Strong knowledge of school-based OT practices Ability to manage and prioritize a busy caseload with professionalism and care Collaborative spirit to work alongside teachers, staff, and families Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
Your Responsibilities:
Deliver direct, in-person OT services to students according to individualized education plans (IEPs) Maintain approximately 1,000 minutes of student contact per week (about 16 hours) Assess students needs, create therapeutic intervention plans, and track progress Work closely with educators and multidisciplinary teams to promote students academic and functional success Engage families and caregivers in support strategies and goal updates Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with state and school district policies
