Overview:

Children's Therapy Services of Colorado, Inc. is a multi-disciplinary (ST, OT, PT and ABA) outpatient clinic located in Northglenn, CO. We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist or COTA to join our team of pediatric therapy specialists. We are looking for a qualified, motivated, compassionate and outgoing professional that has that Extra Special something that makes them stand above the rest.

Position:

The Pediatric Occupational Therapist serves children from birth through early adolescence who are diagnosed with a variety of congenital, developmental, neurological, or acquired disorders and delays. The ideal candidate will assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans to help children build the functional skills they need for daily living, play, and academic success. This role requires creativity, adaptability, and a deep understanding of childhood development and sensory integration, in addition to strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach to support children in achieving their goals. The position will be based at our clinic in Northglenn and may also include working with families of children ages 0-3 in homes through Early Intervention services.

Primary Responsibility:

The Pediatric Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating children with developmental, physical, sensory, and cognitive needs while supporting families through education and collaboration. The therapist develops individualized treatment plans and delivers evidence-based therapy that promotes independence in daily living skills, play, and school readiness.

Duties:

Evaluation and Treatment:

Evaluate and treat children with developmental, physical, sensory, and cognitive needs. Conduct therapy sessions using evidence-based interventions in individual and group settings.

Treatment Planning:

Create individualized therapy plans targeting fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care tasks (e.g., dressing, feeding), visual-motor integration, and play-based goals.

Family Education:

Educate and coach families on techniques and strategies to support development and progress toward therapy goals.

Functional Skill Development:

Use therapeutic activities to improve functional independence in daily routines, play participation, and school readiness.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with healthcare professionals including CTSC's multidisciplinary team of speech therapists, physical therapists, and BCBAs, in addition to pediatricians and educators.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress reports.

Early Intervention Services:

Provide early intervention services and participate in Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings when applicable.

Professional Development:

Stay current with research and best practices in pediatric occupational therapy.

Requirements:

Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Valid state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in Colorado. Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). CPR and First Aid Certification required by start date. Experience working with pediatric populations, including autistic children and those with diagnoses including, but not limited to, Down syndrome, sensory processing disorder, developmental delays, cerebral palsy, and ADHD. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage children, families, and other therapists effectively. Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet the diverse needs of children. Comfort working in a fast-paced and dynamic pediatric environment. Spanish speaking preferred, but not required. Feeding therapy experience preferred, but not required.
