Therapists receive individualized mentoring and access to exceptional continuing education. Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team.

Job Description and Duties:

Specialize in the evaluation and treatment of children from birth to 21. OTs are skilled evaluators of child development. We are highly trained in the treatment of learning disabilities, developmental delays, fine and visual motor delays, feeding issues, orthopedic impairments, autism, neurological impairments, sensory integration disorder, motor coordination delays, and cognitive impairments.

Essential Duties:

• Assess clients' fine motor skills and development (ie. perceptual-motor, motor coordination, sensory development, muscle strength, etc.) for the purpose of determining their deficits to develop recommendations and provide skilled intervention.
• Assess clients' visual perceptual processing skills to provide recommendations and intervention to improve the clients' performance at home and in the community.
• Assess feeding skills and provide intervention.
• Assess sensory processing and provide skilled sensory integration therapy.
• Consult and collaborate with other skilled professionals such as Speech and Language Pathologists or Physical Therapists in order to treat the whole client.
• Develop plan of care and establish measurable outcomes focused on restoring and gaining increased function.
• Implementation of plans for remediation of functional limitations.
• Documentation (ie. evaluations, observations, progress, contacts with parents, and outside professionals, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support, developing recommendations and/or conveying information.
• Researches resources and methods (i.e. intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) for the purpose of determining appropriate approach for addressing clients' functional goals.
• Evaluation, recommendation and training in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology to increase the clients' independence.
• Provide skilled intervention.
• Treatments are administered safely and skillfully according to the established plan of care.
• Cultural diversity, varied learning styles and patient population are recognized when working with clients. Patient privacy and confidentiality is always maintained.
• Actively participates in quality improvement, program development and professional growth activities.

Other Job Duties:

• Participates in various meetings (in-service training, site meetings, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information and/or meeting credential requirements. Job Requirements

• Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited Occupational Therapy program
• National Registration or Certification from National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
• Idaho State License in Occupational Therapy

Skills to apply assessment techniques and treatment modalities, communicate effectively.

• Knowledge of assessment techniques and treatment modalities, relevant education codes, state and district policies, child development patterns.
• Work independently, be flexible and work under time constraints, work effectively with staff, parents, and clients.
• Physical abilities to complete lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, reaching/handling.
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance by the State of Idaho, Valid Driver's License and evidence of insurability.
• Communicates appropriately using good interpersonal skills.
• Positive, professional demeanor is projected through verbal and non-verbal communications.
• Privacy is maintained at all times for patient and employee information.
