Category Schools - Orientation and Mobility Specialist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference by supporting students as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist in a part-time, contract capacity. This position offers the unique chance to work one-on-one with a 9th-grade student, providing tailored orientation and mobility instruction for one hour per week. Key Qualifications:

Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) required Experience working in school settings, especially with adolescents, is preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to adapt strategies to fit individual student needs and school environments Current knowledge of best practices and tools in orientation and mobility interventions

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver effective, individualized orientation and mobility training to a 9th-grade student with visual impairments Conduct assessments to determine ongoing needs and progress Collaborate with educational staff and family members to support student success Maintain thorough documentation of services and progress notes in accordance with school policies Participate in team meetings as needed to contribute to student growth and share expertise Stay informed on latest trends and resources in the field to continually enhance student experience Why Apply?
