Overview We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role involves providing specialized therapy services to children with diverse needs, including those with autism, disabilities, or recovering from injury or illness. The ideal candidate will have a passion for improving pediatric patient outcomes through comprehensive assessments and tailored intervention strategies. Experience in various settings such as outpatient clinics, schools, home health, and inpatient facilities is highly valued. The Pediatric Occupational Therapist will play a vital role in enhancing children's functional abilities, supporting their development, and promoting independence. Duties Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric patients to identify their unique needs and develop individualized care plans. Assist children with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including feeding, dressing, and grooming skills. Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive functions. Collaborate with families, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive care delivery. Participate in discharge planning and case management to facilitate smooth transitions across care settings such as inpatient, outpatient, or school environments. Provide therapy services for children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. Support early intervention programs by working with infants and toddlers to foster developmental milestones. Document patient progress accurately and adjust treatment plans as needed to meet evolving goals. Educate families on home exercises and strategies to reinforce therapy outcomes outside clinical settings. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to pediatric care. Experience assisting with ADLs and developing effective discharge plans for pediatric patients. Skilled in working with children with autism spectrum disorder, disabilities, and those requiring post-acute or inpatient care. Familiarity with acute care environments such as ICU or skilled nursing facilities is a plus. Knowledge of early intervention strategies and home health services enhances treatment effectiveness. Ability to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs across outpatient clinics, schools, or inpatient settings. Excellent case management skills with a focus on patient-centered care coordination. Effective communication skills for working with children of various ages and their families. Experience in pediatrics within hospital-based outpatient clinics or school-based programs is preferred.
