Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the educational setting by providing vital support to students and collaborating with dedicated educators as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Working within a school environment, you'll have the chance to help children reach their fullest potential and address a diverse range of student needs.
Essential Qualifications:
Active certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Previous experience or strong interest in school-based occupational therapy Ability to adapt activities and modify interventions to meet individual student needs Effective communication skills to collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and parents Organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining records and documentation Commitment to working with children of varying abilities and backgrounds
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct therapy services to students under the guidance of a supervising occupational therapist Implement individualized education plan (IEP) goals through engaging and effective activities Support classroom participation and independence by developing tailored interventions Track student progress and provide input for evaluations and IEP meetings Collaborate with other school professionals to promote student success in learning and participation Contribute to a positive, supportive, and growth-oriented atmosphere for students As a contract position, this opportunity offers valuable, hands-on experience supporting children's development in a collaborative educational setting.
