OhanaCare PPEC is seeking a compassionate and energetic Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our growing pediatric therapy team in Lauderhill, Florida. This position is a great fit for an OTA who enjoys working with infants and children and wants the opportunity to provide meaningful, hands-on therapy in a collaborative medical daycare environment. Hours can be flexible to start , with the opportunity to increase hours as our patient census continues to grow. We are open to working with the right candidate to create a schedule that works for both the therapist and our patients. Responsibilities Provide occupational therapy treatments under the supervision and direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Work with infants and children with developmental delays, neurological conditions, genetic disorders, feeding challenges, and other complex medical needs. Provide therapeutic activities focused on fine motor development, sensory processing, visual-motor skills, play, positioning, self-care, and activities of daily living. Help children work toward individualized developmental and functional goals. Monitor patient progress and communicate observations and recommendations to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Complete accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions. Collaborate closely with nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, caregivers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Educate and support families and caregivers regarding therapeutic activities and carryover strategies. Maintain a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate therapy environment. Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and team communication. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current Florida Occupational Therapy Assistant license in good standing. Current CPR certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire. Pediatric experience preferred. Experience in PPEC, early intervention, pediatric outpatient therapy, home health, or school-based therapy is a plus. Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills. Comfortable working collaboratively with nurses, therapists, caregivers, and medically complex children.
