Job Description

Take the next step in your career by making a meaningful impact in a middle school setting as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)! This rewarding contract position offers the opportunity to work onsite, supporting students in both general education co-taught and self-contained programs. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to help students develop essential skills, making a real difference in their academic and daily life success.
Key Qualifications:
Active Illinois COTA license required Previous experience working with middle school students preferred Familiarity with supporting both general education and special education settings Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere
Responsibilities:
Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in grades 6-8 across a caseload of approximately 30 students Assist in the implementation of individual educational plans (IEPs) and collaborate on student progress Support students in developing skills for academic participation, social interaction, and daily living Document and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records per school protocols Consult and collaborate with teachers, related service staff, and families to promote student achievement Contribute to a positive, responsive environment for all students Enjoy the
