Job Description

Empower students and support their well-being as a school psychologist in a PreK-8 district near Elgin, IL. This is a contract-based opportunity with immediate start through late May 2027, offering the chance to positively impact young learners across varying grade levels. While the district will determine the specific caseload and grade assignment according to the needs, candidates should feel comfortable working at any level. Bilingual skills in Spanish are preferred, and the district offers some potential for hybrid flexibility.
Qualifications & Experience:
Possession of a Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement Experience or interest in working across PreK-8 grade levels Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and caseloads Bilingual in Spanish highly desirable Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct evaluations for special education eligibility and provide comprehensive psychoeducational assessments Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to implement supports and interventions Offer counseling services, behavioral consultation, and crisis intervention as needed Participate actively in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and other student support meetings Support social, emotional, and academic development for all students
