Clinical Director/Lead Occupational Therapist Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our outpatient pediatric therapy team. The COTA works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) to implement individualized treatment plans that help children achieve greater independence and success in their daily occupations. Our clinic serves children with a variety of developmental, neurological, sensory, orthopedic, and behavioral needs in a collaborative, family-centered environment. Primary Responsibilities Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist. Provide engaging, evidence-based interventions that address: Fine motor and visual motor skills Sensory processing and sensory integration Self-care and activities of daily living (ADLs) Executive functioning and attention Social participation and play skills Handwriting and school readiness Upper extremity strength, coordination, and motor planning Adapt activities and environments to meet each child's developmental needs. Collect objective data during treatment sessions and communicate progress to the supervising OT. Document treatment sessions accurately, thoroughly, and within required timelines. Assist with standardized and non-standardized assessments as directed by the supervising OT. Collaborate with families to provide education, home programs, and carryover strategies. Communicate effectively with physicians, teachers, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions. Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies in a safe and organized manner. Comply with clinic policies, ethical standards, HIPAA regulations, and state practice act requirements. Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential. Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure. CPR certification. Ability to meet physical demands of pediatric therapy, including lifting, positioning, floor activities, and assisting children with mobility. Preferred One or more years of pediatric outpatient experience. Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, developmental delays, sensory processing differences, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other pediatric diagnoses. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR). Knowledge of sensory integration principles and pediatric occupational therapy interventions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build trusting relationships with children and families. Creativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm in treatment planning and implementation. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the supervising OT. Commitment to family-centered, evidence-based care. Strong clinical reasoning within the scope of COTA practice. Essential Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, and sitting on the floor. Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds with assistance as appropriate. Frequent reaching, bending, and repetitive hand use. Ability to actively engage in movement-based therapeutic activities. Work Environment Outpatient pediatric therapy clinic.
