9682864-18512 Job Description Make a meaningful impact working with elementary students in a part-time contract role as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Located near vibrant Scranton, you'll play a key part in supporting a dedicated Occupational Therapist within a school district, helping children develop essential skills in an onsite setting.
Key Qualifications:
Current COTA certification and appropriate state licensure Previous experience with school-based occupational therapy or a strong interest in pediatric settings Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate clearly with students, educators, and families Solid understanding of child development and classroom accommodations Compassion, patience, and enthusiasm for working with young learners Organizational skills and the ability to manage a consistent weekly schedule
Role Highlights:
Collaborate with the districts Occupational Therapist to deliver services for an elementary caseload Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy interventions to students based on IEP goals Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and session notes Participate in team meetings, share insights, and contribute to the development of intervention plans Encourage student participation, helping them achieve greater independence in their academic and daily routines Carry out activities and exercises designed by the supervising OT, adapting as needed for individual student needs
