DME Technician Orthopaedic Associates - 3.6 Evansville, IN Job Details Full-time From $18 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Paid time off 401(k) matching Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Orthopaedic Associates is a fast-paced, 14-physician orthopaedic practice with four practice locations in Evansville and Newburgh, IN and Henderson, KY. We are currently seeking a DME Technician to join our team. This would be a full-time position and would be benefits eligible. We are closed on the six major holidays and new employees are eligible for holiday pay and insurance after completing their first 60 days of employment. We also offer a lucrative PTO plan and 401k with a matching component. Hours are generally Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm. The DME Technician will handle and dispense all DME in clinic. The DME Technician will work under providers and take orders that come in from them. The DME Technician will managing the fitting and dispensing of durable medical equipment When not fitting DME they will assist CA's with minor clinical duties and helps maintain a clean and efficient clinical environment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED certificate required, Associates or bachelor's degree from accredited college/university, Certified Orthotic Fitter, or Certified Athletic Trainer preferred. Candidate needs to have 1,000 hours of orthotic fitting experience if you only have a High School degree and 500 hours if you have only a health care degree from an accredited college/university. Extra training would be necessary if candidate doesn't have previous hours of experience. Proficient with computers Strong interpersonal communication skills with a pleasant and cheerful attitude Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment Strong knowledge about orthotics

Fit and adjust all durable medical equipment after it is prescribed by the physician Provide patient instructions for properly using and caring for the DME Liaison between Progressive Health and Orthopaedic Associates, coordinating with the Physical Therapists on Custom Orthotic Splints and DME. Relay phone messages from the patient to the provider and return patient's call Assist with appropriate clinical duties, including applying and removing casts and splints, etc. Assist with rooming patients, collecting vitals and other pertinent medical history to enter in EMR Prepare schedules for DME Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with company policies and procedures
