Part-Time Optometric Technician Lifetime Eyecare - Jenison, MI Part-Time Join the Lifetime Eyecare Team! Lifetime Eyecare is looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated Part-Time Optometric Technician to join our growing team! Our technicians play a huge role in the patient experience. You'll work directly with patients and our doctors, perform testing, gather important information, and help keep our clinic running smoothly. No previous optometry experience or certification is required. We are happy to train the right person! We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is eager to learn, pays attention to the details, and isn't afraid to jump in and help. What You'll Do Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable throughout their visit Review and document patient medical and ocular history Perform preliminary testing before patients see the doctor Check visual acuities Perform tonometry and other diagnostic testing Assist with retinal imaging, OCTs, visual fields, and other testing as trained Prepare exam rooms and patients for the doctor Instill eye drops as directed Assist our doctors with procedures and testing Prepare contact lenses and assist with insertion and removal Educate patients on proper contact lens care Accurately document information in the patient's electronic health record Clean and maintain exam rooms and equipment Help maintain clinical supplies and inventory Communicate with the doctors, front desk, optical team, and other technicians to keep patient flow moving Assist with other office responsibilities as needed Who We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you are: Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable working directly with patients Dependable and punctual Organized and detail-oriented Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Able to multitask while maintaining accuracy A strong communicator Comfortable learning new technology and medical equipment Willing and excited to learn new skills Able to take initiative and problem-solve A team player who is willing to help outside of their immediate role Able to receive feedback and adapt as our practice grows and changes Previous medical, optometry, ophthalmology, or patient care experience is a plus, but it is NOT required. Schedule This is a part-time, in-office position at our Jenison location. Our office operates Monday through Friday, with some later weekday hours.
