Duties Perform comprehensive troubleshooting and repair of HVAC systems, including refrigeration units, boilers, air conditioning systems, electrical components, and plumbing connections. Install new HVAC equipment and mechanical systems in residential settings following schematics and HVAC design specifications. Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure reliable operation and extend system lifespan. Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and perform electrical diagnostics to identify faults accurately. Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools to complete maintenance tasks efficiently. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly, answering questions professionally, and ensuring customer satisfaction during every interaction. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all work performed for quality assurance and compliance purposes. Adhere to safety protocols including EPA regulations for refrigerants and proper handling of ammonia refrigeration systems. Skills Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with a strong background in system repair and installation. Mechanical knowledge encompassing HVAC/R systems, boilers, and general mechanical systems repair. Skilled in equipment troubleshooting using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and field service techniques. Ability to perform electrical diagnostics accurately within complex electrical systems associated with HVAC equipment. Hands-on experience with welding techniques for mechanical repairs or modifications when necessary. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Knowledge of refrigerants including EPA certification for handling refrigerants safely. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
