JOB DUTIES OF THE TECHNICIAN
Successfully operate Electronic Medical Records system using the iPad Uncover and prep instruments in the morning when needed Closing instruments at the end of business day when needed Perform pre-testing in a timely, accurate and professional manner Be proficient in the use of all diagnostic equipment used in the work-up of patients Help to keep the Doctor's schedule running on time Obtain accurate history for the doctor as part of the eye exam Fully document history, health updates, medications and allergies in Electronic Health Record chart Analyze glasses and verify prescription for glasses and contact lenses as needed Perform appropriate diagnostic testing for each patient Document test results on chart where appropriate Assist patients with completing all necessary forms and waivers Notify the doctor when the patient is ready Assist doctor as needed for in-office minor procedures Train patients in the proper use and care of their contact lenses Help schedule consults for patients with other physicians as required Clean and autoclave instruments Clean and stock exam rooms E-Scribe prescriptions in a timely manner (must be done same day) Complete insurance prior authorizations as needed Send chart notes to referring providers Shut down all equipment properly and close exam rooms at end of day Other duties as assigned
