Our practice focuses on binocular vision, visual processing, learning-related vision problems, concussion rehabilitation, and neuro-optometric care through individualized vision therapy programs. We are seeking an energetic, compassionate, and detail-oriented team member who enjoys working with people and wants to grow in a collaborative healthcare environment. This position combines clinical care, optician responsibilities, patient coordination, and administrative support, with the opportunity to train as a Vision Therapy Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with optician or optical experience who is interested in expanding their skills in specialty optometry and vision rehabilitation; however, we are willing to train the right candidate with related experience.
Responsibilities:
Optometric Technician / Clinical Duties Perform preliminary testing, including: Visual acuity, Stereo, Color Vision Specialized Binocular and Eye Movement tests Lensometry Tonometry Retinal imaging and specialized testing Collect patient medical and visual history if needed Assist with binocular vision and visual processing evaluations Prepare patients for examinations and support efficient patient flow Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) Scribing Document exam findings and treatment plans in real time during patient visits Assist doctors with clinical workflow and patient communication Review treatment plans and payments when needed Ensure accurate and timely chart completion Optician / Optical Duties Assist patients with frame styling and lens selection Educate patients on specialty lenses, prism lenses, and therapeutic eyewear Take optical measurements, including PD and seg heights Adjust, repair, and troubleshoot eyewear Process and manage optical orders with labs Verify prescriptions and ensure quality optical dispensing Prior optician experience is strongly preferred Vision Therapy Assistant Training Support Vision Therapists with cleaning equipment and ensuring patient materials are available Track patient progress and reinforce home activities Opportunity for advancement into a Vision Therapist role Administrative & Scheduling Duties Schedule and confirm appointments Answer phones and assist patients with questions Maintain organized records and recall systems Support a positive and welcoming patient experience Qualifications Optician, optical, or optometric experience preferred Absent optometric experience, experience working in a related healthcare field desired.
