Receptionist Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Optician / Receptionist to join our team at our Phoenix office! This is a lower-volume clinic (averaging 4-10 patients per day) with a full-time optical technician already on staff — this role is focused on running the front and optical side of the practice: answering phones, scheduling, and helping patients select and purchase eyewear. While no license is required, prior experience in the optical field is essential. You'll handle a mix of patient-facing optical styling and sales, administrative and reception duties, insurance billing, and order placement. Our office manager and other staff are available to help during busier times, but this position owns the day-to-day running of the optical. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive clinical environment where customer service, organization, and hands-on optical skills all play a key role.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM;

NO WEEKENDS

Responsibilities:

Answer phones and manage patient scheduling in coordination with the doctor's calendar Provide personalized frame styling and optical product recommendations based on patient needs and preferences Deliver exceptional patient care in an optical clinic environment Bill and verify vision insurance benefits, and assist with patient eligibility inquiries Place orders for glasses and contact lenses Use optical systems to process orders and maintain accurate records Assist with medical billing and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Collaborate with the technician, office manager, and other staff to maintain a smooth and efficient patient flow Accurately use and understand medical and optical terminology

Qualifications:

Previous experience in the optical field is required No license is required for this position Familiarity with EHR systems (Revolution EHR a plus) Experience with insurance verification and appointment scheduling Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality practices Organized, reliable, and a quick learner with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus!
