Job Description
Job Summary Visionary Eye Care is a new boutique private practice in a growing area with an emphasis on creating a culture where patients and team members feel they are part of a family. Our optician will be responsible for selling, fitting and dispensing glasses and will initially be expected to answer phones, patient scheduling, insurance verification and other tasks that arise on a day to day basis while providing a great interpersonal experience for our patients. Duties Greet customers and provide personalized assistance in selecting eyewear, including frames and lenses. Conduct fittings and adjustments to ensure proper alignment and comfort of eyewear. Maintain knowledge of current optical trends, products, and technologies to provide informed recommendations. Process orders for eyewear, including verifying prescriptions and ensuring accuracy in lens specifications. Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock organization. Cutting, edging lenses and inserting into frames for dispensing. Assisting doctors with contact lens insertion and removal classes. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. Assist with retail sales, utilizing retail math skills to manage transactions effectively. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support patient care as needed. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent State optical license is highly recommended Familiarity with Eyemed, Spectera, Davis Vision, VSP etc Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse clientele. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills essential for managing inventory and patient records. Availability to work full time, eventually including occasional half day Saturday mornings.
