This role is essential in providing excellent customer service, managing patient interactions, and supporting daily front desk operations in an optical practice. The perfect candidate will handle phone calls, book appointments, check vision insurance, and help out with billing tasks. Bilingual Spanish/English skills are preferred to effectively serve our diverse patient community. This position offers an exciting and engaging environment where attention to detail and strong communication skills are highly valued. Duties Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, conveying appointment details and answering patient inquiries. Set up and confirm patient appointments efficiently, ensuring smooth daily operations. Verify vision insurance benefits and assist patients in understanding their coverage options. Enter patient information accurately into the system and update records as needed. Convey the status of orders to patients, including delivery timelines and any delays. Assist patients in selecting eyewear frames by directing them to the appropriate frame boards. Perform basic eyewear frame repairs. Manage inventory by assisting in ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels. Post payments into the system accurately, handling cash register operations with basic math skills. Support other front desk duties such as greeting patients, checking benefits, and conveying information clearly. Experience Prior experience in a customer service role is preferred but not required; strong interpersonal skills are essential. Basic math proficiency is necessary for handling payments and transactions. Experience with cash register operations is a plus. Knowledge of vision insurance processes is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly preferred to better serve our diverse clientele. Previous experience in an optical or healthcare setting is beneficial but not required; a willingness to learn about eyewear products and insurance processes is important.
