Nittany Eye Associates is a multi-doctor eye care practice with five locations across Central Pennsylvania. We are seeking a confident, highly motivated individual with strong customer service skills to join our optical team! Our Opticians are extremely patient focused, working one-on-one with patients to assess their eyewear and visual needs. This is a multi-faceted role that includes direct patient care as well as administrative duties such as placing optical orders, submitting orders to insurance, We are looking for an individual that has a passion for learning, an outgoing personality with a positive attitude, and a drive for practice-focused success. This position is ideal for someone who is detail oriented with strong multi-tasking skills and enjoys a fast-paced environment. Job Responsibilities:
Provide patients with exceptional customer service by being comfortable providing recommendations based on the patient's vision needs Willing to always go the extra mile for our patients and strives to consistently provide a superior experience Must be detail oriented, able to multi-task, and work well with others Aiding patients with frame styling and selection so they leave with an amazing pair of glasses they love Custom fits glasses & precisely places prescription in lenses. Perform repairs such as replacing nose pads, screws or temple tips Thorough understanding of varying insurance plans and benefits Input patient information and glasses orders in EHR with accuracy and attention to detail while following HIPAA compliance policies Demonstrate strong product knowledge and accurately describe the features & benefits of all products Place optical orders and submit to insurances Verify and distribute optical mail Orders frames and assists in frame returns Communicate with patients and optical vendors regarding order statuses and updates Invoice reconciliation Takes pride in the appearance of store & shows initiative to keep displays & inventory clean, attractive & organized. Set the standard of quality in eye care and eyewear by ensuring every patient has the best experience
