The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in ophthalmology, optics, and laboratory procedures, with a commitment to providing exceptional patient service. As an Optician Technician, you will assist with eyewear fittings, lens dispensing, and maintaining clinical confidentiality while ensuring compliance with health regulation policies. This role offers an opportunity to develop expertise in optical technology and patient care within a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsibilities Assist licensed optometrists with patient examinations and clinical procedures. Dispense spectacle lenses and eyewear frames, ensuring precise adjustments for optimal fit and comfort. Conduct eyewear fittings, frame adjustments, and ensure proper alignment in accordance with patient needs. Maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies. Support retail sales activities by providing excellent customer service, explaining product features, and assisting with eyewear selections. Manage inventory of optical supplies Requirements Prior experience in retail optometry settings is highly preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic math relevant to optical dispensing. Familiarity with EMR systems such as CrystalPM or similar platforms for medical records management. Understanding of HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, and state healthcare regulations. Skills in spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear fitting, frame adjustment, and optical laboratory operations. Ability to operate POS systems and cash registers efficiently during retail transactions. Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor; experience in retail sales management is a plus. Basic knowledge of medical coding related to ophthalmic procedures is desirable; aseptic technique training is preferred.
