Job Description
Our growing private optometry practice in Kyle, TX is seeking an experienced optician to join our optical team. We specialize in independent eyewear collections, made-in-the-USA products, performance and sports vision solutions, and high-quality patient care. We are looking for someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional eyewear, outstanding service, and personalized recommendations that help patients see and look their best. What You'll Do Guide patients through frame and lens selections based on prescription, lifestyle, visual demands, and personal style. Educate patients on lens designs, coatings, and premium visual solutions. Verify eyewear accuracy and ensure finished eyewear meets prescription specifications. Troubleshoot prescription concerns and lens adaptation issues. Perform frame adjustments, fittings, repairs, and dispensing. Process and manage eyewear orders from selection through delivery. Maintain optical inventory, merchandising, and frame board presentation. Assist with in-house lens finishing and edging. Collaborate with doctors and staff to ensure an exceptional patient experience. What We're Looking For Strong knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, frame fitting, measurements, and dispensing techniques. Commitment to accuracy, quality, and attention to detail. Excellent communication and patient education skills. Ability to build trust and long-term relationships with patients. Professional, dependable, and team-oriented. Comfortable recommending premium lens technologies and eyewear products. Preferred Qualifications Previous optical experience required. ABO certification is highly valued. Experience with vision insurance and managed care plans. Experience with lens finishing, edging, and optical troubleshooting.
