Job Overview Join our dynamic emergency medical team as a Paramedic in the Emergency Room, where your expertise will be vital in delivering rapid, high-quality care to patients experiencing urgent health crises. In this fast-paced environment, you will be at the forefront of life-saving interventions, providing critical support during some of the most challenging moments for patients and their families. Your role is essential in ensuring swift assessment, treatment, and stabilization of patients with diverse medical needs. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, cardiac rhythm analysis, and physiological evaluations to determine immediate care needs. Execute advanced procedures such as catheterization, IV insertion, venipuncture, and suturing with precision and aseptic technique. Manage acute care situations by administering CPR, basic life support (BLS), and utilizing medical equipment operation skills to stabilize patients. Monitor cardiac events through cardiac rhythm monitoring and EKG interpretation to identify critical arrhythmias or emergencies. Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy while adhering to safety protocols for specimen collection and patient care. Maintain accurate documentation using clinical information systems, recording all interventions, observations, and patient responses diligently. Collaborate seamlessly with hospital staff to ensure continuity of care and effective communication during patient handoffs. Requirements Demonstrated proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology understanding, and emergency response procedures. Certified in CPR and basic life support (BLS), with additional certifications in advanced life support preferred. Skilled in the operation of medical equipment such as EKG machines, pulse oximeters, and other diagnostic tools. Experience with specimen collection techniques including venipuncture and phlebotomy; familiarity with clinical information systems is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively under pressure in high-stakes situations. Strong communication skills to explain procedures clearly and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Pay:
$22.00 - $28.96 per hour
