Personal Trainer | Build a Career With Consistent Hours + No Sales Legendary Fitness | Prairie Grove, AR . If you're looking to build a career as a personal trainer, but you're tired of the traditional model where you have to find your own clients, sell packages, and hope enough people show up each week for you to make a paycheck, this position is built differently. At Legendary Fitness, we provide the clients, handle consultations and enrollment, and schedule trainers in dedicated semi-private coaching blocks. If you're scheduled, you're paid for that time. One client cancels? You're still coaching. Someone goes on vacation? Your entire paycheck doesn't disappear with them. You don't have to wander the gym looking for leads, cold-message members, pressure people into training packages, or constantly market yourself just to keep your calendar full. We handle the sales side. You focus on becoming a great coach. We're not looking for someone who simply wants to pick up two or three training sessions a week as a side gig. This position may begin part-time as our semi-private program grows, but we're looking for someone who wants to grow with it, develop professionally, increase their hours over time, and make coaching a meaningful part of their career. . . A Different Way to Make a Living as a Trainer Traditional personal training can be rewarding, but the business model can be brutal. A client cancels and you lose an hour of pay. Someone goes on vacation and suddenly there's a hole in your paycheck. A client stops training and now it's your job to find another one. You spend time writing programs, following up with leads, selling packages, and trying to piece together enough appointments to make a consistent income. We don't think trainers should have to become salespeople and small-business owners just to make a living doing what they're actually good at: Coaching people. Our semi-private model is designed to create a more stable, professional coaching environment for both trainers and clients.
At Legendary Fitness:
Clients are provided. We handle marketing and lead generation. Consultations and enrollment are handled for you. You are not responsible for selling training packages. You work scheduled coaching blocks instead of scattered individual appointments. You're paid for the hours you're scheduled to work, even if an individual client cancels or misses a session. That's different from traditional personal training, where a higher per-session rate can still mean inconsistent income when clients cancel, travel, or stop training. Your income is less dependent on one specific client's attendance. Programming support and structure are built into our training system , allowing you to spend more of your energy actually coaching. You work as part of a team instead of competing with other trainers for clients. There is room to grow your hours as the program grows. We want this to feel like a coaching career, not a constant scramble to keep your calendar full. . . What Semi-Private Training Looks Like This position is specifically for our semi-private training program , not traditional one-on-one personal training. One trainer coaches a small group of clients at the same time, with each client following an individualized training program based on their goals, experience, abilities, and limitations. This is not a group fitness class where everyone performs the same workout. You'll move between clients throughout the session, coach technique, make adjustments, answer questions, track performance, encourage clients, and make sure each person receives the attention they need. Think personal training with a better structure. You'll be responsible for coaching the person in front of you, while also maintaining awareness of the rest of the training floor. For the right coach, it's engaging, fast-moving, and a lot more interesting than standing beside one person counting reps for an hour. . . Who You'll Be Coaching Our typical client is not an elite athlete or competitive powerlifter. They're everyday people who want to: Get stronger Lose body fat Build muscle Move better Feel more confident in the gym Improve their health Learn how to exercise safely Stay accountable and consistent Some clients will already be comfortable in a gym. Others may walk through the door nervous, intimidated, and completely unsure of what they're doing. You should enjoy working with both. A huge part of being a good coach here is being able to meet people where they are, explain things clearly, and help them make progress without making them feel stupid for being a beginner. . . What You'll Actually Do Your primary responsibility is coaching our semi-private training clients.
That includes:
Coaching proper exercise technique Helping clients progress safely Making exercise modifications when needed Monitoring multiple clients during the same training hour Tracking client performance and progress Communicating with the rest of the training team Following our training systems and programming structure Creating a welcoming, professional training environment Building relationships with clients Helping clients stay accountable Keeping the training area clean and organized Continuing to develop your own coaching skills Your job is not to be a rep counter. We want coaches who pay attention, communicate, teach, adapt, and genuinely care whether the person in front of them is improving. . . Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who wants personal training to become more than an occasional side job. You may be a great fit if you: Want to build a long-term career in fitness Genuinely enjoy coaching people Want more consistency than the traditional appointment-based training model provides Would rather train clients than sell training packages Are dependable and available for consistent scheduled blocks Enjoy working with beginners and everyday gym members Can communicate clearly and professionally Are comfortable managing multiple clients at the same time Can take feedback and work within a team Want to keep learning and developing as a coach Take ownership of your responsibilities Show up when you say you're going to show up Experience matters, but coachability, reliability, communication, and attitude matter a lot to us too. We can teach our systems. We need you to bring the willingness to learn, the ability to connect with people, and the desire to become better at your craft. . . Schedule & Career Growth This is a W-2 employee position , not an independent contractor or rent-based training position.
Expected starting schedule:
approximately 20-24 hours per week, with opportunity to grow as our semi-private program expands. Trainers are paid for all scheduled coaching hours, including scheduled blocks where individual clients cancel or miss sessions. Trainers work scheduled semi-private coaching blocks rather than building a schedule around individual client appointments. If you're scheduled to work, you're paid for that time. This position may begin part-time depending on current program demand and your availability. This role is expected to begin at approximately 20-24 hours per week, with the goal of increasing hours as the program grows. Our ideal candidate is interested in making coaching a significant part of their career rather than simply squeezing a few training sessions around another full-time job. We are particularly interested in candidates with consistent afternoon and evening availability , although additional availability is a plus. Weekday morning and Saturday opportunities may also become available as the program expands. Reliability and consistent availability are extremely important for this position. . . What You Won't Be Responsible For We want to be especially clear about this because we know these are some of the biggest frustrations trainers face. You will not be expected to: Build your own client roster from scratch Cold-call or cold-message leads Walk the gym floor trying to sell training Pressure members into packages Run consultations or close sales Rent space from us Operate your own separate personal training business inside the gym Depend entirely on one-on-one appointments for your income We want you spending your time becoming an excellent coach. . . Our Culture Legendary Fitness is a locally owned 24/7 strength and fitness facility in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
Our five Core Values are:
Respect. Integrity. Discipline. Lead By Example. Compassion. They're not decorative words hanging on a wall. We hire and fire by our Core Values. We expect our staff to treat members well, communicate with each other, take ownership when something goes wrong, follow through on commitments, and represent Legendary Fitness professionally. We also believe you can take coaching seriously without acting like the gym is a military compound. You should be able to coach hard, laugh with clients, work well with coworkers, accept feedback, and leave your ego at the door. . . Requirements Current personal training certification from a nationally recognized certifying organization is required by our insurance. Applicants who are already enrolled in an approved certification program and nearing completion may still apply, but certification must be active before beginning work. Current CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain it Strong understanding of basic strength training principles Ability to safely demonstrate and coach resistance-training exercises Strong communication skills Reliable transportation Dependable attendance Consistent availability Willingness to learn and follow Legendary Fitness training systems . . Bonus Points Additional experience with any of the following is helpful, but not required: Strength training Coaching beginners Working with deconditioned adults Exercise modifications Clients working around previous injuries or limitations Semi-private or small-group training Behavior change and accountability coaching Exercise regressions and progressions You don't need to check every box to apply. If you're a good coach who's hungry to learn and wants an opportunity to build something more consistent, we'd still like to hear from you. . . Interested? If you're tired of chasing clients, selling packages, and wondering how many cancellations are going to hit your paycheck this week, this may be the training position you've been looking for. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with our training department and become an important part of the team. Apply through Indeed with your resume and qualifications. Candidates selected to move forward will receive additional information about the next step in our hiring process. And don't worry about writing us a painfully generic cover letter. We're much more interested in why you became a trainer, what you enjoy about coaching, and where you want your career in fitness to go.
