Job Description
About Train Unique Train Unique is a growing adaptive fitness gym serving the special needs and disability community, with locations in Lafayette and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We are expanding into Pennsylvania, Texas, and California, and our first California location is opening in Long Beach. The Role This is a key position. You will be among the first trainers at our Long Beach location, working with clients with autism, Down syndrome, and other developmental and physical disabilities. We are building this location from the ground up, and the person who steps into this role will help shape how it runs. For the right person, there is significant room to grow with us as we expand. Who We're Looking For What matters most to us is professional or personal experience with the special needs community. Autism, Down syndrome, developmental and physical disabilities, whether that experience comes from work, from your own family, or from years spent alongside this community. That is the highest-value thing a candidate can bring to us, and it is what we weigh heaviest. Personal training experience is not required. We provide the training and certification, so if you have never worked in fitness before, that is not a mark against you. If you do bring training experience, that is a real advantage and we want to hear about it. We can teach someone how to train. We cannot teach someone how to genuinely care about this community. Training and Support Your first 1 to 2 weeks are paid training at our Lafayette, Louisiana headquarters. Airfare, housing, and food are fully covered. Schedule and Pay Part-time to start, with room to grow as the Long Beach location builds. $30 per hour starting, with earning potential up to $70 per hour as the location and your role grow. Timeline This is not an immediate start. We are hiring now for a target start in late September to early October because we are looking for the right candidate, not the fastest available one.
