Job Summary The Personal Trainer will lead safe, effective, and engaging one-on-one and semi-private training sessions. We are looking for a knowledgeable, dependable, and energetic Personal Trainer who cares about building genuine relationships and helping clients make meaningful progress. This person will assess client needs, develop individualized exercise programs, monitor progress, and help clients remain motivated and consistent. The right candidate will combine strong fitness knowledge with excellent customer service. They will be punctual, approachable, encouraging, and comfortable working with clients of different ages, abilities, and fitness levels, while creating a welcoming environment that helps clients feel supported, challenged, and confident throughout their fitness journey. Key Responsibilities Conduct initial consultations with clients to assess their fitness levels, goals, and health history. Design safe and personalized exercise programs based on each client's goals, needs, and abilities. Lead engaging one-on-one and semi-private personal training sessions. Demonstrate exercises and coach clients on proper technique, form, breathing, and equipment use. Track client progress and adjust fitness programs as needed to maximize results. Provide general nutrition education and healthy-habit coaching within the trainer's professional scope and Xhale's established programs. Maintain a clean and safe workout environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines. Stay up-to-date with the latest fitness trends, techniques, and best practices. Foster a supportive and motivating environment to help clients stay on track with their fitness journey. Motivate clients while providing accountability, encouragement, and appropriate feedback. Promote additional services, classes, and programs offered by the facility. Keep accurate records of client sessions, payments, and progress. Support client retention by delivering consistent service and helping clients recognize their progress. Educate clients about relevant Xhale services, classes, and programs without using high-pressure sales tactics. Attend required team meetings, training sessions, and studio events. Follow all Xhale policies regarding safety, confidentiality, professionalism, and client communication. Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based fitness practices through continuing education. Qualifications Certification from a recognized fitness organization (e.g., NASM, ACE, ISSA, ACSM). CPR and First Aid certification. Proven experience as a personal trainer or relevant role. Strong knowledge of various fitness disciplines, exercise techniques, and nutrition. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to motivate and inspire clients of all fitness levels. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field. Specialized certifications (e.g., in weight training, yoga, pilates). Experience working with special populations (e.g., seniors, athletes, individuals with medical conditions). Physical Requirements and Working Conditions This is an active, in-person position. The trainer must be able to: Demonstrate exercises safely and effectively. Stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, reach, and move throughout scheduled sessions. Lift, carry, and reposition weights and fitness equipment as needed. Assist clients appropriately while maintaining safe professional boundaries. Work in an active fitness-studio environment. The role requires the physical ability to demonstrate exercises, assist clients with physical activities, and handle fitness equipment. Trainers must be able to lift weights and move equipment as needed. Trainers are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, including punctuality, reliability, and respectful communication with clients and colleagues. Compensation Training or administrative hourly rate: $17-$18 per hour One-on-one session rate: $23-40 per completed session Semi-private session rate: $23-45 per completed session Final compensation will be based on qualifications, certifications, experience, availability, and assigned responsibilities.
