POSITION SUMMARY
The YMCA of the East Valley is committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Program Director, the Personal Trainer is responsible for supporting YMCA operations through effective delivery of programs, services, and member engagement. This position contributes to the achievement of Association goals by promoting the YMCA mission, values, and strategic priorities while providing high-quality service to members, participants, staff, and the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are representative of the duties and responsibilities performed by this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive list. Core Responsibilities Perform duties in alignment with YMCA mission, policies, procedures, and operational standards. Deliver high-quality customer/member service to participants, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners. Support departmental and Association goals through effective communication, teamwork, and accountability. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation as required. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and required professional development activities. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Support risk management and safety procedures. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support operational needs. Perform all other duties as assigned. Position-Specific Responsibilities Ability to instruct, lead, & modify exercise routines for a variety of fitness levels. Ability to perform safe & effective exercise routines for a variety of fitness levels. Ability to motivate & encourage members towards a healthy lifestyle. Serves as a positive role model for members. Maintains a supportive & positive environment for members. Ability to communicate well. Shows a genuine interest in developing positive, ongoing relationships with members. Ability to engage members by learning about their Y Story and sharing the story of the YMCA. Follows the YMCA personnel policies, practices, salary administration plan, emergency procedures and risk management procedures. Assists with all other essential tasks as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications Current CPR/First Aid certification. High school diploma or GED. Experience participating in one-one training. Experience training for at least 6 months to 1 year of personal training A basic knowledge of health & fitness; with an emphasis in human anatomy and physiology. Experience in program design custom for client's goals. Must obtain a current personal training certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Depending on assignment, duties may include: Sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting. Operating office equipment and technology. Ability to lift up to 45 pounds. Ability to work in indoor and/or outdoor environments. Ability to travel between branch locations, if applicable. DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

) Employees assigned driving responsibilities must: Possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License. Maintain acceptable driving record in accordance with YMCA policy. Maintain required automobile insurance coverage. Use reliable transportation for Association business.
