Job Description

Commission + Mentorship Path — Gorham, ME We're hiring a personal trainer/ strength and conditioning coach who wants to build a real client schedule inside a gym with a raw and progress driven environment — not a big-box "sell packages and disappear" model.
Pay:
commission only. If that's a deal-breaker, this might not be the career for you. The name of our game is doing a great job with one client, and having them bring you more. We do help with getting you training leads, and we can help you build the skills you need to keep them coming back. If you want help filling your books and growing from there, keep reading. The job Train clientele using the scientific principles of strength training and to our standards One on one as well as small group training. Fast paced, on your feet, lots of physical activity demonstrating exercises and moving/ loading equipment Start by spending time on the floor: watch how we coach, meet the clientele, understand what people here expect from a coach and from a session Shadow and assistant-coach as needed while you ramp up Build and keep a consistent schedule — we will help you develop the coaching and communication skills to find leads and keep them coming back for good exercise What we care about more than years on a resume: Direct communication Punctuality Discipline Humility (you can already be good and still be coachable) Training philosophy that actually fits how we work Experienced trainers are welcome if those values sound like they line up. We still want you in the gym first. Seeing our gym in action and having it resonate with you matters more than a polished resume and a stacked schedule. If our facility and philosophy aren't in the same realm, it's better we find that out early! If you don't think Vigor is a good fit, your clients probably won't either. Requirements Current CPT (NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent) and CPR/AED certificate Ability to work the prime hours most clients actually want to book (5AM-11AM & 4PM-8PM, weekends) Willingness to start with shadowing/assisting To apply Email a short intro: certs, years coaching, availability, and what kind of training you believe in. Strong fits will be invited in to watch the gym operate before we talk numbers or client load.
