Overview Join our vibrant health and wellness team as a Silver Sneakers Instructor, where your passion for fitness and commitment to empowering older adults come together to create dynamic, engaging classes. In this role, you will lead energetic group fitness sessions tailored specifically for seniors, promoting mobility, strength, balance, and overall well-being. Your expertise will inspire participants to stay active, healthy, and confident in their bodies while fostering a welcoming and motivating environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of older adults through fun and effective exercise programs. Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging Silver Sneakers group fitness classes that incorporate elements of body mechanics, physiology, and anatomy knowledge to ensure safe and effective workouts for seniors Lead classes that include diverse activities such as low-impact aerobics, Pilates-inspired movements, yoga poses, cycling sessions, dancing routines, and light CrossFit or functional training exercises tailored for older adults Incorporate specialized techniques like kickboxing and sports coaching to enhance cardiovascular health and coordination in a fun, supportive setting Educate participants on proper exercise form, breathing techniques, and injury prevention while encouraging active participation and confidence Adapt programs based on participant needs, fitness levels, and feedback to maximize engagement and safety Maintain a thorough understanding of health club standards, group fitness best practices, and current trends in senior fitness to keep classes fresh and motivating Promote membership growth through excellent teaching skills combined with fitness sales acumen by encouraging ongoing participation and program enrollment Experience Proven experience teaching group fitness classes with a focus on senior populations or specialized training in programs like Pilates, Yoga, or cycling Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, body mechanics, and how they relate to safe exercise practices for older adults Demonstrated ability to design effective workout programs that incorporate elements of program design principles suitable for seniors' health needs Background in sports coaching or personal training with certifications in group fitness instruction preferred Familiarity with diverse fitness modalities such as CrossFit-style functional movements or dance-based workouts is a plus Excellent teaching skills with the ability to motivate diverse groups while ensuring safety and proper technique Knowledge of health club operations combined with sales skills to promote ongoing class participation and membership engagement Join us as a Silver Sneakers Instructor and help seniors embrace active lifestyles through energetic movement!
