Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract To Hire A pharmacy professional opportunity is available for an experienced or newly qualified pharmacist seeking to develop their retail pharmacy skills. This role operates on a 12-week contract-to-hire basis, offering an excellent pathway to permanent employment. The position requires working Monday to Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with no weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with regulations. Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of over-usage. Ensure medicine supplies meet legal requirements and prescribed treatments are appropriate. Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation. Provide detailed patient counseling on medication use, potential side effects, and answer patient inquiries. Offer consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications, including proper storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions. Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices, such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures. Supervise and collaborate with pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks. Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively. Identify and communicate about drug-related problems with physicians and healthcare practitioners. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Valid California pharmacist license required. Open to retail pharmacists who are willing to be trained and develop new skills. Strong communication and organizational abilities. Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations is advantageous.
