Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract This opportunity is for a licensed pharmacist to provide comprehensive inpatient pharmacy services at a hospital located in Oneonta, New York. This is a 13-week travel contract position starting ASAP, designed for pharmacists with current New York State licensure and recent inpatient experience. A competitive travel package is included, covering housing, meals, and mileage.

Schedule and Hours:

Full-time, 40 hours per week Monday through Friday with department hours from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM Shift options include: 6:30 AM-3:00 PM, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM-5:00 PM No regularly scheduled weekends or holidays; occasional every-third-weekend rotation may occur depending on team coverage needs No formal on-call rotation currently, but well-qualified travelers may be scheduled for 2-3 nights per week

Key Responsibilities:

Verify and dispense medication orders accurately Supervise and oversee pharmacy technicians Perform pharmacokinetic dosing for vancomycin and aminoglycosides Support general inpatient pharmacy workflow and provide clinical assistance as needed Maintain sterile compounding operations with technician oversight, adhering strictly to USP 797 and 800 standards, including proper garbing, hand hygiene, fingertip testing, and media-fill competency verification

Qualifications and Experience:

Active New York State Pharmacist License (mandatory) Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience; retail or outpatient experience alone is insufficient Demonstrated experience with sterile compounding and compliance with USP 797 and 800 requirements Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD; PharmD not required Comfortable working with EMR (Epic) and automated dispensing systems such as BD Pyxis (preferred) Willingness to cover additional shifts at nearby Delaware County hospital if needed Strong adherence to safety protocols and ability to complete at least a 2-week onsite orientation before independent practice
