Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support a well-established 400-bed medical center in Northern Virginia. This role involves inpatient pharmacy operations within a technologically advanced environment utilizing EPIC and Pyxis systems. The assignment begins immediately and extends for at least 13 weeks, with potential to transition into a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform inpatient order verification and ensure accuracy and compliance in medication dispensing Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient workflow Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff through clinical consultation Apply pharmacokinetics principles to optimize patient medication therapy
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current pharmacist licensure in Virginia Experience working in inpatient hospital pharmacy settings preferred Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
Schedule & Location:
Primarily 8-hour second shifts on the contract assignment Facility located in Northern Virginia, near Stafford and Fredericksburg areas This position offers a chance to contribute directly to patient care in a dynamic hospital environment while enhancing your clinical skills.
