Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an experienced inpatient pharmacist to provide exceptional pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting. This contract role is based in Virginia Beach, VA, with a start date of September 28 and a duration of 13 weeks. Candidates must hold a valid Virginia pharmacy license and bring a strong background in inpatient pharmacy practice.
Schedule/Hours:
Day shifts: 0630-1500, 0730-1600, 0900-1730, 1000-1830 Evening shifts: 1300-2130, 1430-2300 Overnight shifts: 1930-0730, 2030-0730
Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders and enter orders accurately within the EMR system. Manage drug interactions, dosage adjustments including renal dosing, and oversee pain-controlled analgesia. Administer and monitor antibiotic therapies and anticoagulants. Provide pharmacokinetic dosing consultations. Support chemotherapy medication management, where applicable. Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes. Utilize EPIC for charting and medication order processing.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Active Virginia pharmacy license (mandatory). Minimum of 1-year inpatient pharmacy experience. Proficiency with intravenous medications, pain control, antibiotics, and drug interaction management.
EPIC EMR
proficiency is required. Experience with chemotherapy protocols, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing is preferred. Prior travel experience is a plus but not required.
