Long-Term Care Pharmacy Receptionist /
Pharmacy Assistant Pay:
$22•24 per hour
Full-Time:
40 hours per week
Schedule:
Must be available for 1 weekend day, including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays About the
Position:
We are a closed-door long-term care pharmacy serving patients and healthcare facilities. We are looking for a dependable, professional, and highly organized Pharmacy Receptionist / Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who takes punctuality, attendance, and responsibility seriously . The person in this role will be an important point of contact for our patients, caregivers, nurses, and healthcare facilities, so reliability and excellent communication are essential. We are looking for someone who: Arrives on time and is consistently dependable Has excellent attendance and takes their work responsibilities seriously Can remain calm, professional, and courteous during high-volume periods Communicates clearly and confidently over the phone Pays close attention to details and follows instructions carefully Can multitask without sacrificing accuracy Is comfortable working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment Understands the importance of confidentiality and professionalism when working with patient information
Key Responsibilities:
Handle a high volume of incoming pharmacy calls Assist callers with routine requests, including prescription questions, refill requests, messages, and general pharmacy-related needs Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, caregivers, nurses, and facility staff Accurately document and route phone messages and requests Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism and patience Use pharmacy and computer systems to enter and retrieve information accurately Assist with daily pharmacy operations, including medication packaging and other pharmacy support duties as assigned Follow pharmacy procedures and established workflows Protect patient confidentiality and follow all applicable policies and regulations Work cooperatively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other members of the pharmacy team
Training:
Previous pharmacy experience is preferred but not required. We provide comprehensive training on our pharmacy operations before employees begin handling calls independently. This training is designed to give you a strong understanding of our workflow and services so you can confidently assist the patients and long-term care facilities we serve.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred Pharmacy Assistant license required At least 18 years of age Previous office receptionist, medical front-office, customer service, or pharmacy experience is highly preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail Strong computer skills and ability to learn pharmacy software Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Strong mathematical skills Ability to follow procedures and instructions accurately Bilingual/multilingual candidates are highly preferred due to our diverse patient and facility population Reliability Is Essential This is a position where being dependable matters. Our pharmacy supports long-term care facilities and the patients who depend on timely medication services.
Candidates must be able to:

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, use hands to handle or feel, talk, and hear. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
