Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Manager Job Type Contract Seeking an experienced Pharmacy Manager to serve as an interim Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) / Director of Pharmacy (DOP) at a small, rural critical access hospital. This contract opportunity is ideal for a licensed California pharmacist with hospital pharmacy experience who can quickly step into a leadership role within a close-knit healthcare setting.
Location:
Rural Northern California Schedule:
Four 10-hour day shifts per week
Duration:
Approximately 13 weeks, with a start date as soon as possible
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily pharmacy operations with a focus on staffing (90%) Conduct order verification and supervise pharmacy technicians Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff through clinical consultations Manage pharmacokinetics and support medication therapy decision-making Perform administrative duties related to pharmacy management (10%)
Qualifications:
Active California Pharmacist license required Previous hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred Proven leadership in pharmacy operations or management roles Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with clinical teams Ability to manage staffing and workflow in a fast-paced hospital environment This contract is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented pharmacist looking to contribute to patient care in a critical access hospital while applying leadership and operational expertise.
