Director of Pharmacy NMC Health - 5.0 Newton, KS Job Details Full-time 2 days ago Qualifications Registered Pharmacist (RPh) Drug regulation Licensed Pharmacist (State-Specific) Licensed Pharmacist Full Job Description The Director of Pharmacy provides leadership and oversight for all pharmacy operations and medication management activities throughout the organization, including the storage, preparation, distribution, control and safe use of medications, The Director coordinates daily clinical pharmacy services, include the development, implementation, and management of pharmacokinetic dosing protocols and drug management systems that promote optimal patient outcomes through safe, effective, and cost-conscious medication therapy. Responsibilities include oversight of medication safety policies, procedures, systems, and medication-related orders; pharmacy information and computerized medication management systems; and all pharmaceutical compounding and sterile product preparation practices, including chemotherapy and other hazardous pharmaceutical products. The Director leads quality improvement initiatives related to medication use and drug therapy, manages pharmaceutical consulting contracts, and is accountable for the overall financial and operational performance of the Pharmacy Department. The Director ensures pharmacy services comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, accreditation and certification requirements, organizational policies and procedures, and professional standards of practice. At the recommendation of the Medical Staff, the Director is appointed by the Governing Board to lead the organization's Antibiotic Stewardship Program. Organizationally, the Director reports to the Chief Clinical Officer and maintains a Medical Staff reporting relationship with the Chair of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee.
