Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Manager, where you will lead and oversee all pharmacy operations with enthusiasm and precision. This pivotal role involves managing pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering exceptional patient care. As a Pharmacy Manager, you will be at the forefront of medication management, clinical services, and team leadership, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient safety and satisfaction. Your expertise will drive operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of pharmaceutical practice. Responsibilities Observes pharmacy personnel at work and develops quality assurance techniques to ensure safe, legal and ethical practices within the department. Responsible for all aspects of pharmaceutical care throughout the facility. Plans and implements procedures in hospital pharmacy according to the hospital's policies, legal and regulatory requirements of the State of Nebraska, Federal regulations and CMS Conditions of Participation in Medicare. Complies with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of the hospital. Serves as Pharmacist to the hospital and coordinates with remote coverage pharmacists to ensure continuous pharmacy operations and patient care. Collaborates with interdisciplinary medical teams to provider evidence-based medication dosing recommendations. Provides clinical pharmacy support during emergency situations when available, including Code Blue, Trauma, and Rapid Response events, ensuring appropriate medication selection and dosing. Analyzes medical records to indicate prescribing trends and identify excessive or inappropriate usage of medications. Ensures safe and compliant sterile compounding practices are consistently following within the sterile compounding suite. Maintains necessary certifications for sterile compounding suite. Demonstrates customer service skills including friendliness, courtesy, responsiveness, confidentiality and empathy. Coordinates and maintains pharmacy records, policies and procedures to meet all legal and federal/state accreditation or regulatory requirements. Manages the development, implementation, and operation of the medication dispensing cabinet system to ensure safe and efficient medication distribution throughout the hospital. Oversees all purchases of medications and supplies for use within the hospital. Attends Medical Staff meetings to advise and inform the hospital medical staff of medication applications and characteristics.
