This Director of Pharmacy position reports directly to the CEO and partners closely with clinical leadership to oversee all facets of pharmacy operations, including clinical, administrative, staffing, and financial management. The role demands expert knowledge and compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards while fostering quality improvement and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare and dispense medications across all pharmacy operations Ensure regulatory compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other bodies Manage and administer the Adverse Drug Reaction Program Develop and lead new employee training and education initiatives Participate in quality assurance related to drug utilization and patient therapy monitoring Create at least one clinically oriented program annually (e.g., Pharmacokinetic Dosing, Patient Counseling, Pain Management) Promote continuous quality improvement culture Provide patient and family education and counseling
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active Oklahoma Pharmacist License in good standing Minimum three years of hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years (required) BLS certification if mandated by the state PharmD or BS Pharm with advanced degree or hospital pharmacy residency preferred Minimum one year in pharmacy management or leadership Board Certification and residency completion highly desirable Strong knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS compliance and demonstrated leadership capabilities
