Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract A temporary pharmacy technician position is available to support a behavioral health hospital in Chandler, AZ, covering a leave of absence with potential for extension. This role focuses on essential pharmacy operations within a specialized behavioral health environment, working closely with a small team of pharmacists and pharmacy staff.

Responsibilities include:

Refilling and restocking Omnicell cabinets to ensure medication availability Maintaining accurate inventory counts, rotating stock to prevent expiration, and removing expired, recalled, or damaged medications Performing scheduled cycle counts and inventory audits to uphold pharmaceutical standards Filling medication cassettes, bins, and fulfilling patient-specific orders accurately Delivering medications to nursing units promptly and processing medication returns and credits Ensuring all medication packaging and labeling meet quality and safety requirements Assisting with monitoring of high-alert medications and medication room inspections Preparing monthly audit documentation and supporting patient own medication processes Monitoring emergency medication kits and antidote inventory regularly

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Current Arizona Pharmacy Technician license with CPTB certification required Experience in a hospital setting preferred, specifically with Omnicell systems and medication filling machines Knowledge of medication inventory management, out-date protocols, and general pharmacy technician duties Familiarity with Cerner for order entry is a plus, though not mandatory Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM No weekend coverage required This opportunity offers direct training support with pharmacists available for guidance during the initial days on site.
