Job Overview We're seeking detail-oriented Pharmacy Data Entry Technician(s) to join our team, who work within our closed-door Long-Term Care Pharmacy. Our Pharmacy Data Entry Technicians assist in entering prescriptions into the system, verifying details, ensuring compliance with Regulatory Requirements, our Policies and Procedures, and Best Practices, all while working under the Supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist and with oversight of our Chief Compliance Officer. •
REQUIRED
•Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of California with a clear license status.
Responsibilities:
Verify prescription detail in pharmacy management system for accuracy in usage, patient and Doctor information, and ensure accuracy before printing prescriptions to be filled. Inform, and report any issues to on-staff Pharmacist. Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer. Process new prescriptions, refills, cycle, and non-cycle medication in the pharmacy management system, with accuracy and in respect to patient HIPPA protected information. - Answer and respond to phone calls from our partnered Skilled, and Assisted Living facilities. Assist billing department with the verification of insurance coverage for new customers. - Intake information from referral sources and patients in a professional, knowledgeable, and courteous manner. Route patient referrals to the appropriate department or individual(s) in the pharmacy / facility. Communicate with billing department to ensure proper billing to insurance companies, contracts, other third-party payers and patients for all products and services delivered; maintain accurate billing records. Assist billing department with the re-verification of insurance coverage for current customers Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencie Additional note: While this position is primarily focused on prescription data entry, the typist may be cross-trained in filling and dispensing medications to provide support during staff shortages or as operational needs arise.
Qualifications:
Experience with pharmacy data entry and prescription processing. Experience with Digital Rx is a plus. Strong typing and computer skillsExcellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to accurately enter patient, medication, prescriber, and insurance information. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
