Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician professionals to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in pharmacy operations,. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care by supporting medication preparation, dispensing, and administration within a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. The Pharmacy Technician will ensure accuracy, safety, and efficiency in all pharmacy-related tasks while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards. •Training for Pharmacy Technician Certification, if eligible, is available. Responsibilities Manage medication intake and inventory control to ensure timely availability of pharmaceuticals for patient care. Support patient service activities by accurately processing prescriptions and providing medication information under supervision. Ensure adherence to safety standards and aseptic techniques during medication preparation and administration processes. Document medication dispensing activities accurately within electronic health records while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Performs data entry, including patient demographic, billing, medical history, and prescription information. Answering phones and making outbound refill reminder calls. Effectively answers customer's questions and needs to the appropriate staff member. Addresses customer's basic questions regarding wait times and medication in-stock position. Follows up with insurance companies in a timely manner regarding prior authorizations and billing. Receives inventory and updates perpetual counts as per policy. Receives and stores incoming supplies. Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment. Upholds patients' rights including privacy and confidentiality. Provides excellent customer service as evidenced by a willingness and ability to assist customers with their questions/concerns, treating customers in a friendly and helpful manner, and maintaining a positive attitude. Follows cold storage management protocols. Prepares and coordinates medications for shipment. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Communicates effectively with customers, referring physician staff, and colleagues/employees of organization. Ability to interact and communicate with people over the phone, sometimes in stressful situations. Detail oriented and able to multi-task. Basic data entry and/or word processing skills. Ability to verify data input and correct errors. Conveys empathy and understanding when handling customer service issues. Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Demonstrated ability to handle intake processes efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
