Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners as a K-2 paraprofessional supporting nonverbal and autistic students. This immediate contract opportunity is an excellent match for compassionate individuals who are skilled at building supportive relationships within a school setting. You'll play a vital role in creating a positive learning environment and supporting teachers and students day-to-day.
Key Qualifications:
Prior experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting, especially at the K-2 level Familiarity with approaches to working with nonverbal and autistic students Patience, empathy, and a strong desire to empower students with diverse needs Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers and support staff Flexibility to adjust to evolving classroom needs and a commitment to the well-being of each child
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist students in achieving academic and social goals as outlined in their individual education plans Support classroom routines, both in small groups and one-on-one, adapting strategies as needed Provide gentle guidance and encouragement, creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere Work closely with classroom teachers to implement learning activities and behavior strategies Help facilitate smooth transitions and provide supervision during classroom activities This contract role offers the chance to make an immediate impact in a welcoming school environment. The assignment is available to start right away. Located near Meriden, you'll have the satisfaction of helping young students thrive during formative years.
