Job Description
Pharmacy Technician Ivira Pharmacy is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team. This position works closely with pharmacists, other technicians, patients, prescribers, and insurance companies to help ensure prescriptions are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment, and committed to providing excellent patient service. Responsibilities Enter and process prescription information accurately into the pharmacy system. Assist pharmacists with prescription preparation and filling. Count, measure, package, label, and organize medications for pharmacist verification. Process prescription claims through insurance plans and troubleshoot rejected claims. Communicate with patients regarding prescription status, refill requests, insurance issues, copayments, and pickup or delivery arrangements. Contact prescriber offices when necessary to obtain prescription clarifications, refill authorizations, or additional information. Manage incoming phone calls, electronic prescriptions, faxes, and pharmacy communications. Assist with refill processing and patient outreach. Maintain accurate patient profiles and prescription records. Process prescription pickup and point-of-sale transactions when needed. Assist with prescription delivery coordination and preparation of medications for delivery. Receive and properly store medication and pharmacy supply orders. Monitor inventory levels and assist with medication ordering and inventory management. Check medication expiration dates and assist with returning expired or recalled products. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy work area. Follow pharmacy policies, HIPAA requirements, state and federal regulations, and company procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, delivery staff, and other pharmacy team members. Assist with additional pharmacy operational duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Pharmacy technician experience preferred but not required for the right candidate. Pharmacy technician registration, certification, or licensing as required by applicable state regulations. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and customer-service skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn pharmacy software. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
