Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician to support a busy pharmacy environment on a 13-week contract basis. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-focused setting.
Location:
Clearwater, FL Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30
PM Start Date:
ASAP or approximately 1.5-2 weeks after offer clearance
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately process and fill prescriptions, manage insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections. Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification ensuring compliance with safety standards. Perform data entry and maintain prescription paperwork while providing clear communication with patients and healthcare providers. Maintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, restocking, and monitoring medication expiration dates. Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and proper destruction procedures. Cross-train across various pharmacy functions to effectively support departmental needs. Ensure adherence to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and other applicable insurance regulations.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
High School diploma or GED required. PTCB certification and current Florida pharmacy technician license mandatory. Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience; call center experience is a plus. Strong multitasking abilities with exceptional organizational and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, providers, and internal teams effectively.
