Research Assistant:
Pharmaceutical Sciences The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) School of Pharmacy has several positions available as a Research Assistant. The positions are twelve-month, contractual, and grant funded. Continuation of the position is based on renewal of funding. Responsibilities:
- Contribute to research activities, including performing experiments, analyzingdata, possibility of teaching, and summarizing research results for publication,under the supervision of a faculty member.
- Assist graduate students as they conduct experiments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Preferences:
- PhD or M.S. or B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Neurosciences, Virology,Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, Cell Biology, or equivalent degree
- Previous research experiences in cell/molecular biology, neurosciences,medicinal chemistry, cancer biology, genetics and/or biostatistics required.
- Special techniques such as cell tissue culture, DNA/RNA isolation, animalmodels, molecular cloning, and/or protein chemistry.
Physical Demands:
- May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, sitting at desk.
- May require lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and internally.
- Requires operation of a variety of office equipment.
