Job Description

DePietro's Pharmacy is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Our pharmacy technicians play an essential role in providing safe, accurate, and efficient prescription services to our patients. The Pharmacy Technician works alongside pharmacists and other members of the pharmacy team to prepare prescriptions, maintain workflow, assist patients, and ensure that every prescription is handled with the attention to detail our patients deserve. The Role The Pharmacy Technician is primarily responsible for supporting the production and fulfillment of prescriptions while maintaining accuracy, organization, and efficiency throughout the pharmacy workflow. This position requires someone who is focused, organized, dependable, and committed to doing things correctly—not simply quickly. Key ResponsibilitiesPrescription Production Accurately enter and process prescription information under the direction of a pharmacist. Prepare and fill prescriptions according to established pharmacy procedures. Select, measure, count, package, and label medications accurately. Prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification. Assist with prescription transfers, refills, and other pharmacy workflow tasks as permitted by law and company policy. Maintain organized prescription work areas and supplies. Follow established procedures for controlled substances and other medications requiring special handling. Quality & Accuracy Carefully review your work for accuracy before submitting prescriptions for pharmacist verification. Follow all pharmacy policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. Identify discrepancies, unusual situations, or potential problems and bring them to the attention of a pharmacist. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment. Protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Inventory & Pharmacy Operations Assist with receiving and putting away medication orders. Stock medications and pharmacy supplies. Monitor inventory and communicate low-stock or out-of-stock items to the appropriate team member. Assist with inventory organization and expiration-date management. Maintain an organized workspace to support efficient prescription production. Patient & Team Support Assist patients in a friendly and professional manner when needed. Direct clinical questions or medication-related concerns to the pharmacist. Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, delivery staff, and the Customer Care team. Communicate clearly when a prescription requires additional information or follow-up. Help maintain a positive and respectful team environment. Pharmacy Workflow Prioritize work appropriately based on prescription needs and established pharmacy procedures. Assist with prescription synchronization, refill processing, and other pharmacy programs. Help prepare prescriptions for pickup and delivery. Support the pharmacy team during periods of high prescription volume. Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Pay:
$16.00 - $23.00 per hour
