Responsibilities Draw high-quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric patients, following established procedures. Prepare specimens for lab testing in accordance with safety and quality standards. Create a comforting and professional environment for patients, explaining procedures clearly to foster trust and confidence. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of specimen collection and processing activities. Perform specimen processing and handling duties both in clinical and forensic contexts, adhering to established practices. Ensure the safety of the environment and follow confidentiality guidelines to protect patient information. Assist with maintaining supplies and equipment necessary for phlebotomy procedures. Support process improvement initiatives to promote operational excellence within the laboratory team. Required Skills Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patient populations. Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service skills in a healthcare or retail setting. Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks. Ability to perform independently with minimal supervision. Additional Skills & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington. Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; 1+ years preferred. Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime based on staffing needs.
