Job Description
Position Overview United Health Service (UHS) is seeking a phlebotomist. Performs daily activities of the Support Services Department. Functions as a Phlebotomist fulfilling assignments on a rotational basis within the institution and external off-site coverage (I.e. Skilled Nursing Facility, PreAdmission Testing). Performs tasks such as Test Order Entry, Inpatient Venipuncture, OPD Venipuncture, Stock Rotation and Nursing Home draws. (If covering PAT, ability to perform EKG's is required). Responds and interacts with patients and customers in a courteous and professional manner, embracing the concepts and ideals of Service Excellence.

UHS Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY UHS Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton, NY UHS Salanger Outpatient Center, Vestal, NY There is more than one location associated with this position. This is either because there are multiple openings at different sites, or the successful candidate will be required to float across multiple UHS facilities. Rotational Compensation Range:
$19.37- $28.09 per hour, depending on experience You will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours.
- Sign-On Incentives Up to a $2,500 sign on bonus for candidates who meet eligibility criteria.
Additional descriptors to consider:
Demonstrate understanding of the importance of specimen collection and specimen integrity in the delivery of patient care; Demonstrate knowledge of collection equipment, various types of additives used, special precautions necessary and substances that can interfere in clinical analysis of blood constituents, Maintain a clean, well-stocked and safe environment; follows sharps and biohazardous waste disposal guidelines and universal precautions policies. Send supplies to provider offices for laboratory testing. Assist in training of new employees. Performs other related duties as required.Position Qualifications:
